Before we get started, there are few things to keep in mind. For instance, both the streamer and viewer need an active Prime Video subscription to participate, otherwise, it would just be piracy. The Prime Video catalog also varies between regions, so if you live in the U.S and want to watch something exclusively available in the UK, this won’t work. Also, this only works from a computer at the moment. Now that all of this is out of the way, let’s get to it.

Step 1: Create a Twitch account

First thing first, you need a Twitch account, if you don’t already have one, create one quickly. Go to twitch.tv and create a new account by clicking the sign-up button. Enter the details and enter an email address for verification.

Step 2: Install Twitch studio beta

As you can only stream from a desktop application, we’d need to install the application on the computer first. Click this link to download the Twitch Studio Beta on your computer. Alternatively, you can click on your profile icon on the top right > Creator Dashboard > click on the download button under the middle option that says, Get Streaming Software. You can use other streaming apps such as OBS and configure that as well with the Twitch stream Key, but to keep things simple here, I’ve chosen Twitch studio beta. After Downloading Twitch studio beta. Install it on your computer, like you install any other windows or mac app. I’d be using the Mac for this article but the steps are exactly the same, once you’re in the app.

Run the application and log in with your Twitch credentials. It usually picks up the credentials if you’ve logged in on your web browser but if it doesn’t, you can do it manually. Now, it’s time to set up the application for streaming. Click the Get Started button to proceed.

It would ask you permission to access the webcam, mic, and System Audio. Grant the permissions by clicking the buttons next to each item.

While granting Camera and mic permissions is really easy, but you would need one more to be able to stream successfully. Open the Settings app on your computer and navigate to Security and Privacy. Click the Privacy tab and enable Twitch Studio in the Screen Recording section.

Click the Pad Lock on the bottom left to save the changes.

Step 3: Go Live

Now go back to the Twitch Studio app on your computer and click the Start Stream button on the bottom of the window.

It would show you a preview of how things would look. Here you can check if the mic and the camera are working. Once everything checks out, click the “Go Live” button.

Step 4: Setup Stream Party

Now, go back to The Twitch Website on your web browser and click the profile icon on the top right corner of the page. Select the Creator Dashboard from the drop-down list.

On the Creator Dashboard, select Stream Manager from the left pane and click the big + button on the right side of the page.

You’d find the “Start Watch Party” Quick Action on the top. Click the Add button.

Step 5: Start Watch Party

As the Twitch stream is running in the background, we’d select the film or show that you wish to watch with your friends. On the Twitch website, click Start Watch Party on the right pane.

Now, you’d be able to search the shows on Prime Video, right from the Twitch website dashboard. I decided to stream The Boys season 2.

After selecting the episode, click the “Start Watch Party” button to begin the stream.

Your Twitch stream URL is https://twitch.tv/your_username

When the open your Twitch stream on a web browser, it would look something like the image below and they can start watching by clicking the “Start Watching” button.

Enjoy!
